XDOF
Data & simulation
Robot training data pipelines, teleoperation and annotation tools; released the ABC-130K open dataset.
XDOF builds the data layer for robot foundation models: data-collection tooling, teleoperation rigs, and cleaning/annotation pipelines that frontier AI labs and robotics companies use to train embodied models. XDOF emerged from the GELLO low-cost teleoperation project at UC Berkeley and launched in October 2024 to offer an outsourced robotics-data ecosystem. In June 2026 it emerged from stealth with $70M from Thrive Capital, Spark Capital, a16z, Lux Capital, and WndrCo, and released ABC-130K, a large open-source bimanual manipulation dataset (130,000 trajectories plus simulation and evaluation hours). It reports ~60 employees and 20 customers, including several frontier AI labs it cannot name.

Evidence boundary
Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.
What makes it defensible
End-to-end robot-data infrastructure — collection tooling, teleoperation hardware, cleaning and annotation — plus a self-reinforcing data feedback loop that labs find hard to build in-house.
Position in the stack: Data/infrastructure layer feeding robot foundation-model labs; supplies the training data pipelines and tooling on which embodied-AI models depend.
Who buys it
Founding team
Philipp Wu — Co-founder & CEO — UC Berkeley PhD; worked on the GELLO low-cost teleoperation system for robot training data
Fred (Yide) Shentu — Co-founder & CTO — Co-founded XDOF with Wu; technical lead on the robotics-data stack
Nemo Jin — Co-founder & COO — Co-founded XDOF; leads operations and the teleoperator/data-collection workforce

XDOF, just three months out of stealth, is in talks for a Series B at a $1.2B valuation
What this source supports: XDOF is in late-stage talks for a Series B at ~$1.2B led by 8VC, roughly three months after a $70M Series A; annualized revenue approaching $50M (per people familiar).
What it does not establish: Terms are not final; the revenue figure is sourced to unnamed people; XDOF and 8VC declined to comment, so the valuation and revenue are unconfirmed.
