About PXS Research

Research built for real investment decisions.

PXS Research is an investor-led publication examining the companies, technologies and infrastructure behind Physical AI, Healthspan Infrastructure, Digital Trust and Digital Sovereignty. Founder Scott McLeod develops the research for his own diligence on startups, funds and public-market exposure, then publishes it to help co-investors think more clearly and connect with founders building in these areas.

Operator, founder and angel investor connecting the work of building companies with the work of evaluating them.

From startup systems to scaled operations

Scott is Chief Brand Officer at Ashley Digital and a co-founder of Resident. At Resident he built and led digital functions across marketing, e-commerce, data, technology and product before broader Chief of Staff responsibilities. Ashley acquired Resident in 2024. Earlier roles at Meta, Neo Innovation, Toyota and founder-led consulting businesses add experience in adoption, experimentation, data quality and commercialization.

Capital committed to early-stage founders

Scott has invested in more than 50 startups over nearly eight years of angel investing, with an emphasis on seed and very early-stage companies. His selected investments include SourceMedium and Autopilot, alongside limited-partner relationships with LMNT Ventures, Mana Ventures and Coatue. His author profile documents his career, selected relationships, research interests and writing.

Diligence comes before publication.

The research agenda begins with decisions Scott actually needs to make. Which technical constraints matter? What evidence shows customer adoption? Can a company build a durable business around a capability, and what would invalidate that view?

Angel investing and fund diligence

Scott researches companies and funds across the four universes, using his experience as a founder and investor to investigate product readiness, distribution, execution, financing and milestone risk. He directs AI and automation toward the questions that arise in that work. Research supports conviction; it does not turn uncertain early-stage outcomes into predictable ones.

Public-market investing

PXS Research connects emerging systems to the public companies supplying their components, tools, software, power and infrastructure. Public filings, earnings calls, technical material and attributable sources help test whether a theme is becoming measurable demand. A promising technology and an attractive investment remain different questions, so risks, economics and disconfirming evidence belong alongside the thesis.

Better decisions, shared context and stronger deal flow.

Scott publishes the research to help himself and his co-investors make better decisions, make his interests visible to founders, and create access to relevant investment opportunities. Those incentives are part of the publication’s context. PXS Research is not financed through sponsorships, paid coverage or affiliate commissions.

Publishing also gives the work a durable record. A useful thesis keeps its sources, assumptions, uncertainties and revisions together, so new evidence can change the conclusion without erasing the earlier reasoning. Readers can follow a question from a universe to a technology, then to the companies and funds connected to it.

AI assists the work. Scott directs and approves it.

Scott conducts research himself and guides AI tools and automation to investigate the questions behind his investment diligence. These tools help discover material, organize evidence, compare claims, develop analysis and monitor change. Scott sets the research direction and approves the research PXS Research publishes.

Evidence

Make the reasoning inspectable

Published research should connect claims with appropriate sources and distinguish reported facts from estimates, interpretation and open questions. An AI-generated statement is not evidence by itself. The research must still explain what supports a conclusion and what could weaken it.

Attribution

Describe the responsibility accurately

Author credits identify written analysis. Introduction credits identify the research perspective on a hub. Curation and research-maintenance credits describe responsibility for directories and work in progress. A linked profile explains the person’s experience; a credit does not mean an incomplete brief is a finished deep dive.

Dates and status

Keep the state of the work visible

Publication, research review and underlying data updates serve different purposes. Developing research retains its status notice, uncertainties and source context. Automated refreshes should not imply that a person performed a new editorial review or that a thesis has become more certain.

Readers can report an error, challenge an assumption or supply better evidence at hello@pxsresearch.com. Our team monitors this inbox. Include the page URL, the specific claim and any supporting source so the report can be assessed in context. Scott approves resulting research updates.

Substantive revisions need to be understandable to readers: what changed, which evidence changed, and whether it affected the thesis. The research changes page records changes in the tracked research state; relevant page dates and explanations provide the context for the individual analysis.

No unsupported performance claims. The author profile provides specific operating roles and selected investment relationships rather than an asserted investment-performance record. PXS Research does not present personal investing experience as an audited return series, a model portfolio or a promise about future outcomes.

Financial interests and editorial independence

Scott’s economic interest is in making better investment decisions. PXS Research accepts no sponsorships, paid coverage or affiliate revenue for its work. Scott is an active investor and may have financial exposure to companies, funds or technologies discussed in the research. Selected startup investments and fund relationships are identified on his author profile; they are not a complete or continuously updated portfolio.

Publishing also supports deal flow and access to investments. Readers should understand that purpose when assessing the research. Employer, company and fund references describe Scott’s experience and relationships; they do not imply endorsement of PXS Research or access to or use of confidential employer or portfolio information.

PXS Research publishes information and analysis for educational purposes. It does not know an individual reader’s objectives, financial position or risk tolerance. Investments can lose value, and private investments involve illiquidity, limited disclosure and uncertain outcomes. Readers remain responsible for their own diligence.

Name clarification: PXS Research is an independent investment-research publication led by Scott McLeod. It is not affiliated with PX1, Pyxis or similarly named companies and organizations.
