Syntiant

Component

syntiant.com

Irvine-based maker of ultralow-power Neural Decision Processors (NDPs) for always-on voice/sensor AI in battery-powered devices.

Syntiant designs Neural Decision Processors (NDPs) — purpose-built chips that run neural networks for always-on sensing inside battery-powered devices, from earbuds up to laptops, plus the models, training pipeline, sensors and microphones around them. The architectural bet is that machine learning is memory-dominated, so the NDPs use near-memory compute with modest precision to deliver wake-word, keyword, event detection, beamforming, noise suppression and speaker verification at near-zero power. Syntiant has shipped tens of millions of NDP units and had its technology certified on Amazon Alexa. Applications now span personal devices, smart home remotes, healthcare, automotive dash cameras, robotics, industrial and government use, with a newer 'physical AI' positioning.

Evidence boundary

Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.

Near-memory NDP architecture tuned for memory-dominated inference — milliwatt-class always-on neural processing that general-purpose MCUs and DSPs cannot hit.

Semiconductor component layer: the always-on inference die that device OEMs design in, plus the model tooling that makes the die usable, so it sits below the product but sets the power budget.
