Somatic builds the BCR, an autonomous mobile-manipulator robot that cleans commercial restrooms - toilets, urinals, floors and trash - sold as a flat monthly robots-as-a-service subscription to building owners.

Robots-as-a-service for commercial restroom cleaning, priced per operating window with deployment and onboarding included: $1,500/month for 8 h/day weekdays (~$8.63/h), $3,000/month for 16 h/day weekdays (~$8.63/h), $4,500/month for 16 h/day seven days (~$8.63/h weekday, $10.89/h weekend). The robot performs a touchless three-step clean (spray chemical, rinse with fresh water, wet-vac dry), plus toilet/urinal seat handling and flushing, trash pickup, floor scrubbing at 2,400 sq ft/h, autonomous chemical/water refill and self-charging, door opening and elevator navigation; Somatic handles building mapping, VR/teleop task programming and remote monitoring with real-time alerts.

Evidence boundary

Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.

Commercial restroom cleaning is the highest-churn, hardest-to-staff job in facility services: dirty, dull, physically demanding, with high turnover and rising wage floors. Unlike floor-scrubbing AMRs, restrooms require manipulation (fixtures, seats, doors, tools), which is why the category stayed manual. Somatic's claim is that ADA-standardized, bolted-down restroom geometry plus per-building digital mapping and VR task programming make manipulation tractable, letting a single unit cover a route for 8-16 h/day at roughly $8.63/h versus loaded janitorial labor, with remote human oversight only for exceptions.

Full-stack service provider at the end of the chain: designs and assembles the robot (structures, arm, tool changer, tanks, battery), writes the autonomy/mapping/task-programming stack, runs deployment (sensor kit shipped, building walked and 3D-captured, routines authored in VR simulation, on-site calibration in 2-4 weeks), and operates the fleet remotely. It sells outcomes (clean restrooms per month) directly to building owners/facility managers rather than selling hardware to cleaning contractors, so it captures the labor line item rather than a hardware margin.
