Robotic biomanufacturing infrastructure: closed, automated workcells that make cell and gene therapies at scale.

Multiply Labs builds robotic biomanufacturing infrastructure: closed, automated workcells that run cell and gene therapy and advanced biologic production with robotic arms instead of manual cleanroom labour. The system integrates third-party instruments (Thermo Fisher, Cytiva, Charles River, Wilson Wolf, GenScript) with Universal Robots arms, orchestrated by software on NVIDIA tooling, and captures process data automatically for traceability. It targets the three failures of the current stack: throughput, cost per dose, and sterility or variability risk from manual handling. Announced collaborations cover AstraZeneca on cell-therapy automation, Legend Biotech and Kyverna Therapeutics. Founded in 2016 out of Y Combinator by MIT-linked founders, it has raised over $100M, including a $75M Series B led by NantWorks.

Evidence boundary

Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.

A validated closed robotic workcell that both instrument makers and pharma plug into; the integration and sterility qualification is the hard part, not the arm.

Sits between instrument vendors and pharma manufacturing, owning the automation and qualification layer for therapies that cannot be made at scale manually.
