Machina Labs
Integrator / OEM
Software-defined factories that form complex metal structures with AI-guided robotics, no hard tooling.
Machina Labs builds and operates software-defined factories that turn design intent into complex metal structures using AI-guided robotics. Its RoboCraftsman platform performs dieless forming and assembly of sheet metal and thin-walled high-temperature alloys, so parts are produced directly from a digital model instead of hard tooling. The company sells capacity as much as machines: airframes-as-a-service through deployable 'elastic factories', missile and hypersonic structures, naval and energy components, and automotive body panels for mass customisation. It has stood up a first large-scale US Intelligent Factory, its third facility, and works with defence primes and automotive OEMs. Effectively it competes with tooling-bound supply chains on lead time, letting programmes iterate and reach rate production without waiting on dies.

Evidence boundary
Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.
What makes it defensible
Dieless robotic forming removes the tooling lead time that gates metal-structure supply, so Machina sells schedule - the scarcest input in defence and hypersonics.
Position in the stack: Sits at the fabrication step between design and assembly, replacing a tooling-and-stamping supply chain. Hard to copy because it needs the forming process model, robot-cell engineering and qualification data for flight-critical alloys together.
