Jacobi Robotics
Component
AI motion-planning software for industrial arms; first product is the Jacobi Palletizer for case palletizing.
Jacobi Robotics sells AI motion-planning software for industrial robot arms. Its planner generates real-time collision-free trajectories in under a millisecond with roughly 1000x less computational time than conventional planners, which lets a robot be deployed in less than a day instead of the one month typical of legacy programming tools - the company cites a 20x programming speed-up and a 95% reduction in deployment time. The first product, the Jacobi Palletizer, stacks cases of mixed sizes from arbitrary arrival order while enforcing stacking rules; the platform is meant to extend to other manipulation tasks. Partners running production deployments report a 24% saving in overall project cost. It launched from stealth in July 2024 with a $5M seed led by Moxxie Ventures and an ABB Robotics collaboration on AI palletizing.

What makes it defensible
Sub-millisecond, collision-free optimal motion planning: the planner is the scarce piece that turns palletizing from a month of integrator hand-tuning into a software install, and it is where the deployment cost of an industrial cell actually sits.
Position in the stack: Sits above the commodity arm OEM and below the systems integrator as the planning/software layer - ABB and peers supply arms, Jacobi decides how fast a cell can be commissioned. Hard to copy because the moat is algorithmic (real-time optimal planning) plus palletizing-specific constraint libraries validated in live deployments, not hardware.
