Hailo
Component
Fabless edge-AI accelerator vendor: Hailo-8/Hailo-8L/Hailo-10H neural accelerators for on-device inference.
Hailo designs and sells AI accelerator silicon and modules for on-device inference rather than cloud. The catalog spans Hailo-8 (26 TOPS) in M.2 and mPCIe modules plus the Hailo-8 Century PCIe card at up to 208 TOPS, Hailo-8L as a 13 TOPS entry module, and Hailo-10H, a generative-AI acceleration module in M.2 form factor for running models locally on existing PCs and edge devices. It is a fabless model: Hailo supplies the chip, the module and the dataflow compiler toolchain, while OEMs and integrators design the part into cameras, robots, ADAS, smart retail and industrial systems. The sell is power efficiency per TOPS at the edge, where thermal budgets and the absence of a datacenter decide what can run locally.

Evidence boundary
Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.
What makes it defensible
Power efficiency per TOPS at the edge: its dataflow architecture puts 26 TOPS on an M.2 module within a few watts, and the compiler that maps trained networks onto that fabric is the real switching cost for an OEM.
Position in the stack: Component supplier one layer below the perception/robot OEM - it sells the inference accelerator and toolchain that make on-device vision and local generative AI possible, into camera, robot and automotive integrators. The moat is chip-plus-compiler co-design and a validated model-conversion ecosystem; the fab is rented, so the defensibility sits in architecture and software, not manufacturing.

Founding team
Orr Danon — Co-Founder and CEO — Founded Hailo in 2017 with colleagues from the Israeli Defense Forces' elite technology unit; became CEO after co-founder Rami Feig died in 2018.
Avi Baum — Co-Founder and CTO — Machine-learning expert brought in at founding to define the deep-learning processor architecture.
Hadar Zeitlin — Co-Founder and CBO — Smart-mobility specialist; leads business development.
Rami Feig — Co-Founder (deceased 2018) — Co-founded the company with Danon out of IoT cybersecurity work; the processor vision was carried forward by the remaining founders.
