Geneial
Healthspan
Privacy-preserving rare-disease genomic data-exchange platform (Bridge/registry tech); $2.3M NHGRI grant, YC- and Campus Founders Fund-backed.
Geneial builds a privacy-preserving platform for exchanging rare-disease genomic and biomedical data. Its Bridge/registry technology lets researchers query distributed patient registries using encryption, so they can search, find and reuse data while patient records stay protected — a marketplace approach to rare-disease data sharing. Geneial launched Bridge at Baylor College of Medicine's Human Genome Sequencing Center and maintains a Xia-Gibbs syndrome registry with the Xia-Gibbs Society. The company's mission is to accelerate precision medicine by cutting the cost and friction of building data foundations for rare-disease treatment, working directly with rare-disease communities to stand up private, interoperable registries.

Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.
What makes it defensible
Encryption-based federated registry platform that lets researchers query rare-disease genomic data without exposing patient records — the trusted data-exchange fabric for precision medicine.
Position in the stack: Data-exchange layer between rare-disease patient registries and pharma/research — monetises secure, privacy-preserving query access to otherwise-siloed rare-disease cohorts.
