Function Health

Consumer-facing demand aggregator and interpretation layer for preventive diagnostics: orders discounted lab panels and imaging from third-party providers (Quest Diagnostics, imaging network), then adds clinician review and AI-based longitudinal interpretation. · United States

functionhealth.com

Direct-to-consumer preventive-health membership bundling 160+ lab tests twice a year, MRI/CT imaging and AI-assisted interpretation for $365/year.

Function sells an annual consumer membership ($365/year, HSA/FSA eligible) that includes two rounds of 160+ biomarker tests per year at Quest Diagnostics locations or via at-home blood draw, clinician-reviewed results, and a personalized action plan in its app. Members can add full-body MRI and CT scans (under $1,000) through a 200+ location imaging network, the Galleri multi-cancer test, and supplement guidance via acquired SuppCo. Its Medical Intelligence Lab (MI Lab) layers AI chat, protocols and record upload on top of the data.

Evidence boundary

Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.

Comprehensive longitudinal biomarker testing is gated by physician orders, insurance and per-test pricing, so people get roughly 26 markers once a year at best. Function's claim is that a flat $365 membership unlocks 160+ markers twice a year plus imaging, and that owning the resulting longitudinal dataset is the scarce input for predictive, preventive medicine.

Aggregates consumer demand for diagnostics and buys lab/imaging capacity wholesale from third parties, then owns the patient relationship, the longitudinal dataset and the interpretation layer - but does not perform lab testing or employ the labs itself.
