Flexion Robotics
Foundation model
Zurich humanoid autonomy lab — language reasoning, VLA motion generation and whole-body RL control, hardware-agnostic.
Flexion builds the autonomy software stack for humanoid robots — the robot brain rather than the body. Its stack spans language-level task reasoning, vision-language-action motion generation and transformer-based whole-body control trained largely in simulation with reinforcement learning, so a humanoid can take an instruction, navigate, manipulate and recover without per-task engineering. Flexion publishes its research lineage openly: Reflect v0 in November 2025, Reflect v1.0 in June 2026 on long-horizon autonomous work, and joint work with Niantic Spatial and NVIDIA on closing the sim-to-real gap for humanoids. The software is designed to run on any humanoid hardware. The company was founded in Zurich in January 2024 and raised a $50M Series A.

Evidence boundary
Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.
What makes it defensible
A full autonomy stack — reasoning, VLA motion generation and transformer whole-body control — trained by an ETH/NVIDIA team whose RL policies already transferred to real humanoids.
Position in the stack: Software layer above the humanoid OEM: it aims to be the brain that runs across many bodies, which makes it a supplier to every hardware maker rather than a competitor to any.
