Divergent Technologies
Integrator / OEM
DAPS factory-as-a-service: generative design plus in-house metal printing and tooling-free robotic assembly of large structures.
Divergent runs what it calls factory-as-a-service: a software-hardware production system, DAPS (Divergent Adaptive Production System), for complex metal and multi-material structures. Customer requirements feed AI-enabled generative design software that optimises for performance and manufacturability at once; structures are printed on Monolith One, a large-format metal additive system built in-house and never sold or licensed; and autonomous robotic assembly joins printed nodes and members with proprietary techniques and no design-specific tooling, producing assemblies up to nine metres long. The platform has generated over 700 patents and serves aerospace, defence and automotive programmes. Facilities are in Torrance and Long Beach, California.

Evidence boundary
Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.
What makes it defensible
700+ patents spanning design software, printing and tooling-free robotic assembly — the whole loop is proprietary, which is why DAPS is sold as capacity and never as a machine.
Position in the stack: Contract manufacturer of mission-critical structure: it replaces tooling-heavy aerospace and defence supply chains by selling qualified production capacity rather than equipment.
