Config
Data & simulation
Seoul/San Jose startup building the data infrastructure and foundation models for general-purpose bimanual robot manipulation.
Config builds the data infrastructure and foundation models that enable general-purpose bimanual (two-armed) robot manipulation. Its platform, Loop, is a six-module pipeline (from data collection to evaluation) powered by two GPU engines that turns real-world human and robot demonstrations into deployable, task-specific policies. Its first-generation foundation model, CFG-1, is trained on 100K+ hours of in-house data, runs at sub-50ms inference and can be adapted to a new task with hours of teleoperation. Config positions itself as a neutral 'data layer' for robotics - collecting data in Vietnam and Seoul toward 1 million hours while selling enterprise software and an eventual cloud robot-as-a-service. Evidence boundary
Original analysis and independent corroboration remain under development. Commercial scale and durable technical advantage remain under review.
What makes it defensible
An in-house, hardware-agnostic robot-data engine (100K+ training hours) feeding a foundation model - the scarce, hard-to-replicate data layer that general-purpose manipulation models need.
Position in the stack: Robot data and foundation-model layer - 'the TSMC of robot data' - supplying models and data infrastructure that other robot makers and manufacturers build on.
Who buys it
Named customers: Large manufacturers, system integrators, agriculture and defense (unnamed)
